Coronation Street
Here at the Lantern Pike Inn we can justifiably claim to be
the cradle of the world’s longest running soap ~ Coronation
Street. It was here in 1960 that Tony Warren (the creator of the
street) first penned some of the early episodes of Coronation
Street. Below can be seen a montage of some of the early cast.
He also very kindly wrote a note confirming his Lantern Pike
connection which can be seen at the bottom left hand side of the
pictures.

Do you remember the mirror that was always hanging in the
pub? In 1986 Granada decided to give the pub a facelift so they
staged a fictional fire. All the original props were auctioned off and Mr
Alan Hart, the former News of the World Showbiz journalist bid
on it and won. Come along to the pub and check out this
fascinating piece of TV heritage

Also part of the 1986 clearout was the very famous Rovers
Return doors, again Alan Hart acquired them at the same auction. They
can be seen today proudly hanging on the walls here at the Lantern Pike
